pta reflections reminder

Hope your Fall Break is off to a great start!  If your kiddos would like to do something fun and creative during Fall Break, then enter the PTA Reflections Art contest!  Our school is participating in the Visual Arts, Photography, Music Composition, and Dance Choreography categories.  This year's theme is "I Matter Because…"

Here are the steps:
1, Have your child think about the theme "I Matter Because…" and what it means to them.
2. Have them take a picture, create artwork in 2D or 3D, compose music, or choreograph a dance.

• For the Photography category: Students may simply borrow your phone to take a picture capturing the theme. 
• For the Visual Arts category: Students may draw, paint, sculpt, do fiber work, make a collage, do a computer generated image, and much more!  
• For Music Composition: Students compose music and submit a recorded audio performance of it as a WAV or MP3 file.
• For Dance Choreography: Students choreograph a dance and submit a recorded video performance of it as an AVI or MP4 file.

3. Fill out an entry form

• The entry form is on the last page of the General Rules and Entry Form located at: https://www.liholiholaulima.org/reflections.html. If you need a printed entry form, please visit the school office.

4. Turn it in

• Artwork and entry forms are due on Friday October 30 to reflections@liholiholaulima.org. Our school will be holding virtual judging, so please email us your entries.  For visual arts, please submit a photo of your student’s masterpiece (minimum 640x960 pixels).
  

Winners will be announced in early November.  Winning entries will advance to the regional level where actual artwork (for visual arts and photography categories) will be required for judging.  These will need to be turned in to the school office in mid-November (date yet to be determined).  Please make sure it meets the requirements specified in the rules. For example, 2D artwork must not exceed 24x30 inches, photography print must be minimum 3x5 inches, etc.
